Such an historic spot, in the heart of a prosperous Gravenhurst. Please visit. Learn a bit of history, in the beautiful museum, and original home, of a very famous man. Dr. Norman Bethune
Bethune advocated for the poor and was one of the pioneers of universal health care in Canada. He was selfless, hard working, and innovative. If one can see past the politics, one would recognize an extraordinary Canadian.
Why did we not learn about this guy in school? An amazing Canadian. This guy is the an unsung hero of Canada!
An incredible experience! $3.90 for general entry to the museum where you can learn about this famous Canadian thoracic surgeon. You also have access to the outdoor grounds ans the first floor of the house he was born in. For another $3.90 you can watch a very good 10 minute video and explore the rest of the house, as well as have a unique photo opportunity. Very informative, great for the general public and especially for anyone working or studying in the healthcare field.
Great site to remember the one of the best Canadian in history who contributed his life, instead of words like some politicians, to the war of anti-fascism.
